Government Cook Books & Recipe Sites

Tasty recipes might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to government information, but many governments publish cook books and recipes for various reasons - marketing, health, state/national promotion, etc. Here is a non-exhaustive list of such items.

  • Alaska Seafood Recipes by Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. From the website, "Looking for ways to prepare fantastic meals using Alaska seafood? Alaska Seafood is versatile and delicious no matter how you cook it. Browse hundreds of popular Alaska seafood recipes using our online recipe database. Whether you’re preparing a meal for two or 200, you are sure to find a recipe that fits the occasion." Also has set of streaming cooking videos.
  • Alaska WIC Recipes - Set of recipes using foods available through the federal Women's Infants and Children food program. Has link to 7MB WIC Cookbook.
  • Canada excellence at your table - From the website, "We invite you to explore Canada through these recipes that reflect the diversity of our vast territory and the people who inhabit it. From appetizer to dessert, from aperitif to digestif, Canada offers a full range of palate-pleasing food and drink."
  • USA.gov Recipe Links - Links to a number of state and federal recipe sites.
